Alicia Keys will be creating a show that depicts the early years of her life. The singer has recently inked a development deal with channel UPN to create a show based on her childhood, according to MTV.
The show would be an hour-long drama, according to the channel and be loosely based on Keys' multiracial upbringing (her mother is Irish-Italian, and her father is Jamaican).
Although UPN didn't disclose what point in time the show would take place or when the pilot for the show was scheduled to being filming, they did say that the show could be ready as early as next season.
The script is being written by Felicia Henderson ("Soul Food," "Moesha," "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air"), who will executive produce the project, along with Keys and her manager, Jeff Robinson, according to MTV.
In other Keys acting news, the singer recently wrapped up filming her first movie role, where she plays an assassin alongside Ben Affleck in a movie titled "Smokin' Aces."
"I can't wait to see it," Keys wrote on her Web site about the movie, due later this year. "It might trip me out. But this movie is something, boy!"
